Software for RISC OS

About

KiwiSoft's back, after a 23 year break! We were the name that Rob Kendrick and Luke Graham released RISC OS software under back in our school days. Mostly known for the Slayer anti-virus and Doom modification tools (including the AliensTC port), this site contains a bunch of our old stuff, and some new.

The goal is to resurrect some of the software and make it run on modern RISC OS systems.

Our compilers

Modernised compilers

Given a lot of our stuff was in BBC Basic and assembler (where speed was important), the first step was to find some way of linting, porting, and improving the source code. That led us to produce a new compiler for BBC BASIC based on the recently open-sourced Norcroft compiler sources. What started as a plaything to waste some free Claude tokens got a little out of hand, so accidentially we also have slightly improved C and C++ compilers - although you should really use GCCSDK or ROOL's DDE for them!

NBC

NBC is our new BBC BASIC compiler, it compiles a very large subset of the language, and many extensions from ABC and BB4W. It produces rich warning and error messages which are extremely useful for modernising and bug-hunting old code. It produces native Arm code and can also produce portable C code.
